Description:
UNC’s Chatham Park Hospice is a single story, 11,000 SF new inpatient hospice building. The medical facility houses 10 licensed beds, nurse station, support stations, kitchen, dining room, meditation space and family visiting areas. Crenshaw Consulting Engineers designed the electrical, fire alarm, mechanical, sprinkler and plumbing systems as well as the structural engineering. This project was designed to LEED design specifications and achieved a 14% improvement over ASHRAE 90.1-2007. The mechanical system is comprised of a VRF System with multiple independent zones for patient and staff comfort. The electrical system is comprised of a full essential system with life safety, critical and equipment branches backed-up by a 350 KW generator. Also provided medical and air vacuum systems with a micro bulk tank. Construction Cost $4.7M.
