Confidential Client Mission Critical Data Center

Crenshaw Consulting Engineers has been the on-sight PME engineering firm for this data center facility since 2010. Projects include humidification studies, controls projects, chiller replacements and overall maintenance of the facilities.
This mission critical data center client required upgrades to their mechanical, electrical, and fire alarm systems. One of the significant challenges with this project was that during the design, renovation, and installation the facility could not experience any downtime. Crenshaw Consulting Engineers, Inc. was selected to be the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers for this project as well as to provide continued engineering designs for on-sight maintenance and improvements for the systems within the facility.
Crenshaw Consulting Engineers, Inc. performed the following tasks associated with the renovation of this data center facility:
- Provided Engineering Designs for 67,000 SF of Data Hall, Switch Gear Room, Battery Room and Chiller Plant.
- Provided the Electrical Engineering Designs to Increase the Power Density (Watts per SF) for approximately 40,000 SF of Data Halls
- Added Medium Voltage Switchgear, Backup Batteries, Backup Generators, and Additional Fuel Oil Tanks for the Generators
- Provided the Mechanical Engineering Designs for Increased Cooling to Offset the Increase in Power Density
- CRAH Units, Chillers and Pumps
