Crenshaw Consulting Engineers provided individual packaged, water cooled air conditioning units totaling 500 tons individually selected for each office floor and the amenities floor. A cooling tower on the roof provides heat rejection for the units. Heat is provided via electric resistance heat in fan-powered variable air volume terminals. The initial design calls for terminal spaced about each floor with a trunk duct design for flexibility as tenants occupy spaces. Designed to achieve ASHRAE 62.1 ventilation standards with a proposed energy recovery ventilator to pretreat air via a total energy recovery wheel. This arrangement allows for plentiful ventilation air to the building at all times and energy is conserved by extracting it from the relief air stream rather than simply dumping it to the outdoors. The building also features a whole building generator. Numerous energy models were provided to determine the most cost efficient cutting edge energy savings methods and solutions
