Jim Crenshaw, PE LEED AP BD+C

Mr. Jim Crenshaw, PE, LEED AP BD+C is the Engineer In Charge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, Telecommunications and Sprinkler Engineering as well as any Building Commissioning, LEED Coordination and/or Modeling.  

Mr. Crenshaw is the Founder and President of Crenshaw Consulting Engineers and is responsible for a total staff of forty-seven people, nineteen being Professional Engineers.  His responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing leadership and vision of the company, management of employees and projects, providing engineering design quality control and mentorship to those engineers and staff who work for him.  He and his leadership team negotiate the fees for projects and review proposals for every project with Crenshaw’s name on it.  Mr. Crenshaw is LEED AP BD+C Certified and his knowledge on LEED Design, LEED modeling, SMART BUILDING Design and Building Commissioning for both new construction and renovations is evidenced by the numerous LEED SMART BUILDING projects that have been certified, designed and/or commissioned by Crenshaw Consulting. These include the LEED Gold Citrix Office Systems East Coast Head Quarters SMART BUILDING located in Raleigh, NC consisting of a 189,500 SF with 201,900 SF Parking Deck, as well as the Credit Suisse RTP Renovation and New Building Addition Sustainable/SMART BUILDING Design.  Mr. Crenshaw is competent to engineer electrical, fire alarm, mechanical, plumbing, telecommunications and structural designs and in addition is a Qualified Level III N.C. Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical Inspector.  He is committed to staying ahead of the curve in regards to engineering, BIM modeling, energy management and LEED | Sustainable Design | Modeling and Commissioning.  He believes in empowerment, ownership and accountability to encourage each of his employees to be strategic, outside the box thinkers.  He continues to challenge his staff to engineer like an owner of the building.  He believes this is the only way to allow people to grow in their professions.  Mr. Crenshaw has over 30 of experience in this specific field.  As the President and Owner – Engineer in Charge of Crenshaw Consulting Engineers, Mr. Crenshaw is intimately involved in every project Crenshaw Consulting engineers to include those shown.
