Description:
New Life Camp – Raleigh, NC: is a privately operated youth camp that was started in the 1950’s and is located on the boarder of Falls Lake in Raleigh, North Carolina and covers over 70 acres of land. The gymnasium addition includes classrooms and a 3 lane climbing wall as well as a new playground. The gymnasium is used for Upward Sporting events and camp activities while also serving for recreation and special events during overnight camp. The activities center is a multi-purpose facility use for home school enrichment courses. A swimming pool is part of the complex, complete with swimming lanes and a large deck.
Crenshaw Consulting Engineers, Inc. assisted the owners of the facility with camp and building assessments, worked with the owner’s to determine the longevity and the needs of the camp and uses of those attending the camp. Crenshaw Consulting Engineers designed the Plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire alarm for the renovations and additions for the camp to include the a new swimming pool, restrooms, gymnasium, craft building and other facilities throughout the camp. This project was on a fast track schedule so that the design and construction could be completed prior to summer with very tight budgetary constraints.
